それでも Shohei Ohtani added more insurance in the eighth, becoming the first player in history to have 43 steals (he reached that mark in the second inning) and 43 home runs in a season by going the other way for a solo shot that made it 10-5.　と史上初の43−43をレポート。

「43本塁打−43盗塁」が史上初というのは、単なる言葉遊び。

昨年、ロナルド・アクーニャJr.が記録した「41−73」とどちらが上かは、数字がわかる年齢の幼児ですらわかります。ちなみに、アクーニャJr.は打率.337。

〝大谷用語〟を使うと、アクーニャJr.は「.337-41-73」クラブの唯一の住人で「43−43」よりもはるかに難易度が高いのは明らか。

とはいえ、43-43は完全な通過点。レギュラーシーズンは27試合も残し、50−50へ視界良好。50−50なら誰が考えても、40-40クラブ卒業です。

さらに、大谷はまだ現役真っ只中。50−50も通過点。

来年は50−50の更新に、投手をやりながら挑戦するわけです…。
